Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This policy explains how Gamerdoku handles information when you play. Gamerdoku currently has no player accounts and does not ask for your name, email address, or password to play.
Information used to run the game
- Player identifier: your browser generates a random player ID, which is saved in browser storage and sent to our server to recognize your progress. It is not an account or a verified identity.
- Gameplay records: we store puzzle dates, submitted games, the squares you chose, whether guesses were correct and official, remaining-attempt information, and Keep Playing status. Guess records also include timestamps. These records support saved progress, archives, results, rarity scores, rankings, and common-answer statistics.
- Searches: game search text is sent to our server and, when needed, to IGDB to find matching games. Search terms and performance information are also written to server logs.
- Technical information: requests to the site include information such as your IP address and browser details. Infrastructure providers may process or log this information to deliver and protect the service. Temporary IP-based request counts are held in server memory to limit excessive traffic. The gameplay database does not have dedicated fields for IP addresses or browser details.
Browser storage and cookies
Gamerdoku uses local storage to remember your player ID, a local copy of puzzle progress, and whether you have dismissed the welcome message. The current game does not set advertising or analytics cookies or include third-party analytics scripts.
You can remove local storage through your browser's site-data settings. Doing so may prevent that browser from reconnecting to your previous progress. It does not delete records already saved on our server. Blocking local storage may prevent progress from being remembered between visits.
External services and sharing
Game information comes from IGDB. Our server sends search text, game IDs, and metadata queries to IGDB; it does not include your Gamerdoku player ID in those requests. Your browser also requests game cover images from the external image service, which receives ordinary request information such as your IP address and browser details.
Hosting and database services process information needed to operate the game. Email is handled through the email service used for our contact address. External services handle information under their own privacy policies.
The game displays aggregate gameplay statistics, such as common answers, rarity percentages, and square completion rates. It does not provide a public player profile or player directory. Gamerdoku does not sell player information or use it for targeted advertising.
How long information is kept
Gameplay records currently have no automatic deletion cutoff. They are retained to support persistent progress, archived puzzles, and historical statistics. Search and technical logs are separate from gameplay records; their retention depends on the server and infrastructure configuration. This policy does not promise that records will be available forever.
Your choices and privacy requests
For questions or requests about accessing or deleting information associated with your play, contact gamerdokugame@gmail.com. Because there are no accounts, we may need information that helps locate your browser's player ID and verify the request. Your name or email address alone is not linked to your gameplay records. There is currently no self-service server-data deletion button.
Please do not send passwords or other sensitive information. If your concern involves a child's information, contact the same address.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its date when our practices change. Features such as accounts, advertising, or analytics would require this policy to be reviewed and updated.
